2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Base Variant Spied

2022 Maruti Brezza Base Variant Likely To Get LED Indicators, Shark Fin Antenna | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki are all set to unveil the 2022 Brezza. The sub-compact SUV has started reaching dealerships and a new set of spy shots reveals the colours and features of the 2022 Brezza. The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza is likely to launch in June 2022.

The latest spy shots suggest that the base-spec Brezza will likely be offered with LED turn indicators on the ORVMs, a shark fin antenna and LED taillights as standard. The base-spec Brezza seen in the images is finished in red colour. Although the spied car wears steel wheels with no wheel covers, we expect Maruti Arena to offer wheel covers when it goes on sale. In addition to that, the base-spec Brezza is also likely to miss out on the rear wiper and washer.

The 2022 Brezza retains its boxy silhouette. However, it gets a flatter nose and an X-shaped grille with a grey finish and two chrome elements on either side of the Suzuki logo. The LED headlights now get twin L-shaped DRLs and a twin projector setup. The lower bumper gets a more prominent skid plate while the LED fog lights sit lower than before.

On the side, we expect the base-spec Brezza to feature steel wheels with a wheel cover while higher variants will get dual-tone alloy. Other changes include a thicker side body cladding. However, the ribbit-studded design for the cladding is missing on the 2022 Brezza. The ORVMs also house cameras for the 360-degree birds-eye view like in the 2022 Baleno and XL6.

At the rear, the 2022 Brezza gains a sleeker, split LED taillights this time around. The design is somewhat inspired by the tail lamps on the Nissan Pathfinder. The 2022 Brezza is likely to drop the ‘Vitara’ prefix as the Indo-Japanese carmaker may have plans to reintroduce the Vitara nameplate with a new product altogether. Other additions to the rear profile include a roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna.

While the interior images of the 2022 Brezza are yet to surface online, it is likely to offer the following set of features:

  • A 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Electric sunroof
  • Cruise control
  • Auto headlamps
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • Automatic climate control
  • Paddle shifters
  • Telematics
  • 360-degree parking camera

On the powertrain front, the 2022 Brezza will retain the 1.5L normal petrol engine. It will, however, gain dual-jet technology for better fuel efficiency. In the new Ertiga and XL6, the 1.5L engine produces 103PS of power at 6000rpm and 136.8Nm of torque at 4400rpm. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Thanks to the smart hybrid technology, we expect the 2022 Brezza to deliver a segment-best claimed fuel efficiency.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is likely to launch in the coming weeks. It will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Reanult Kiger. It is worth noting that Hyundai are also set to launch the Venue facelift in June to keep the fierce competition up and running.
