Mahindra XUV300 Electric Likely To Launch In January 2023 | V3Cars
The Mahindra XUV300 Electric is likely to launch in January 2023. The XUV300 and future EVs from Mahindra’s upcoming ’Born Electric’ range will help the carmaker rival Tata Motors’ range of EVs such as Nexon EV Max and Tigor EV.
If you recall, the XUV300 Electric was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, the production-spec XUV300 will be bigger and better than the model that was showcased at the biennial event.
Mahindra have confirmed that the XUV300 Electric will measure 4.2 metres in length, which means it will make full use of the Ssangyong Tivoli’s platform. As electric vehicles do not get heavy tax impositions for measuring over 4 metres in length, the XUV300 Electric will be able to offer a lot more space at relatively lower prices. It is worth mentioning that the XUV300 Electric will be a lot more expensive than the ICE-powered XUV300 thanks to the battery pack and electric motor.

Speaking of the battery pack, the XUV300 Electric is likely to boast a 40kWh battery pack and an electric motor capable of producing around 150PS of power. These specs will put the XUV300 Electric up against the recently-launched Nexon EV Max. It is worth noting that the XUV300 Electric will have a significant size advantage over sub-4 metre SUVs such as the Nexon EV Max. Hence, the XUV300 Electric will sit between the Nexon EV Max and MG ZS EV.

Meanwhile, Mahindra are set to reveal the roadmap for their future EVs on August 15, 2022. But before that, Mahindra will reveal their Born Electric SUV concepts in July 2022 in the UK. For the upcoming Born Electric SUVs, Mahindra have partnered with VW to source MEB electric motors and other components.
