In this March 2023 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment Hatchback March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

The Maruti Baleno was the only B2-segment hatchback with 5-figure sales numbers in March YoY comparison.
Hyundai i20 saw a YoY gain of 40.55% and was the highest gainer in the B2-segment hatchback category.
The Glanza was the next best gainer in the category, with a 12.65% YoY growth in March 2023.
Altroz saw a YoY decline of 18% in the category.
Jazz saw a massive 100% decline in dispatches in February YoY comparison and reported zero sales in the month of March as well. The Jazz has now been discontinued by Honda.
Volkswagen Polo was discontinued in the second quarter of 2022.

B2-Segment Hatchback March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

A negative trend in the MoM sales comparison was observed for the B2-segment hatchback category in the month of March
In terms of MoM sales figures, the i20 was the top loser, with a 29% decline in sales figures
I20 was followed by the Glanza, with around 20% MoM loss in sales
