Mahindra XUV400 Teased Ahead Of September 8 Launch | V3Cars

Mahindra are set to take the wraps off the new XUV400 on September 8. Mahindra have teased the front profile of the upcoming electric SUV, which reveals key design changes. The new XUV400 will rival other compact electric SUVs in the market, such as the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Mahindra have confirmed that the XUV400 electric SUV will measure around 4.2 metres, making it longer than both the XUV300 and Nexon EV. Thanks to the increase in length, the XUV400 will offer more boot space than the 257L boot space of the XUV300. It could even offer better legroom than its ICE-powered sibling.

In terms of design, the XUV 400 will get a new grille with X-elements finished in gold colour. The new twin peaks Mahindra logo will sit at the centre of the grille. Additionally, the XUV400 will get LED headlights with DRLs, albeit without the L-shaped elements on the front bumper seen in the XUV300. It will also get a revised rear profile along with new LED tail lights.

The teaser also reveals the charging port on the front left fender of the XUV400. It is likely to support DC fast charging, upwards of 50kW. While the specifications of the XUV400 are scarce, we expect it to feature a 40kWh battery pack along with a 150PS electric motor. The electric motor is likely to power the front wheels only via a single-speed automatic transmission. The Mahindra XUV400 could offer a claimed range of over 400km on a single charge.
