Mahindra XUV300 Electric Spied On Test

Mahindra XUV300 Electric Spied On Test | V3Cars

Mahindra has been working on the electrified version of the XUV300 for a long time now. New spy shots of the XUV300 Electric have surfaced online. Mahindra XUV300 Electric will use the Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA). Mahindra could offer it with two range options - standard and long-range. The XUV300 Electric will compete against the Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona EV.

Mahindra XUV300 Electric

Mahindra showcased the XUV300 Electric prototype at the 2020 Auto Expo. While it was far off from what could be called a finished prototype, the XUV300 Electric is getting closer to its production form. The spied car gets a charging port on its left front fender, confirming the electric propulsion. In terms of design, the XUV300 Electric is likely to be similar to the normal XUV300. However, expect multiple blue accents all around to signify the electrification underneath.

On the inside too, we do not expect any significant changes. However, Mahindra could update the infotainment system with their latest AdrenoX interface, along with a suite of telematics. We can also expect a digital instrument cluster and some blue elements inside the cabin. In terms of dimensions, the XUV300 Electric could measure the same as the XUV300.

Mahindra are yet to reveal the powertrain options for the XUV300 Electric. We expect it to offer two battery pack options - a smaller one to compete with the Nexon EV and a larger one to rival the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. It remains to be seen how Mahindra tackles the lack of charging infrastructure in the country. We expect Mahindra to reveal the XUV300 Electric in late 2022 and it is likely to be followed by a range of other electric vehicles from the homegrown SUV maker.
