Mahindra To Reveal Thar.E Electric SUV Concept On August 15 | V3Cars

Mahindra recently dropped the first teaser of the Thar.E concept, which is set to make its debut on August 15, 2023. Mahindra will reveal their future model concepts at a global event in South Africa. Read on to know more about the Thar.E concept.

Mahindra Thar.E is likely to join the range of Born Electric SUV models the Indian carmaker has slated for launch. Since the teaser reveals the company’s Re.Born Electric branding, the Thar.E is likely to sit on the brand's skateboard electric platform. It is worth mentioning that the current Thar sits on a ladder-frame chassis while the electric Thar.E could make use of a skateboard platform.

The first teaser of the Thar.E only reveals the design of its LED tail light, which incorporates a square design. Since Mahindra will showcase the Thar.E in the concept form, its production version could grow in terms of design and dimensions during the product development.

Given that the carmaker is on track to launch 5 all-new electric SUVs underpinned by the born electric platform, the Thar.E could make its market entry post 2026. As per the launch timeline revealed by Mahindra, the first Born Electric launch will be of the XUV.e8, which will hit showrooms in December 2024. The XUV.e8 is the EV iteration of the XUV700 3-row SUV and it was spotted on test multiple times on Indian roads.

Alongside the Thar.E concept, Mahindra will also showcase a new pick-up concept, which is likely to be based on the Scorpio N. The global event will also reveal Mahindra’s latest innovations in the commercial segment with new platforms for tractors and other commercial vehicles.
