Mahindra Scorpio Engine, Power Specs Confirmed - 130PS Diesel Engine

2022 Mahindra Scorpio Engine & Power Specs Confirmed – To Get 130PS Diesel Engine | V3Cars

Mahindra and Mahindra are gearing up to unveil the 2022 Scorpio in the coming months. The first teaser for the 2022 Scorpio gave us a glimpse of its design. Now, a few spy shots have emerged, revealing the power figure of the Scorpio diesel.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio

According to a sticker on the front windshield of the test car, the 2022 Scorpio produces 130PS of power from its 2.2L turbo diesel engine. The base spec diesel engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual and send power to the rear wheels. We expect Mahindra to offer a different state of tune for the automatic and 4-wheel-drive variants. It is worth noting that the Mahindra Thar gets the same 2.2L turbo diesel with 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque.

The current-gen Mahindra Scorpio comes with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine that produces 138PS of power and 319Nm of torque. Ever since BS6 emission norms took effect, this engine is only offered with a 6-speed manual transmission with a rear-wheel-drive setup. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio, on the other hand, will offer both diesel-automatic and petrol-automatic options along with 4-wheel-drive.

As we stated earlier, Mahindra and Mahindra will take the wraps off the new Scorpio in the coming months while the launch is likely to take place in August 2022. The 2022 Scorpio will not have any direct rivals as the Tata Safari has switched to a monocoque chassis in its latest avatar. We expect Mahindra to price the Scorpio a shade below the XUV700 range.
