Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV Revealed | V3Cars
Mahindra have finally revealed the XUV400 electric SUV and some of its details like battery capacity, boot space and driving range. The most notable aspect is its length, which measures 4200m and is considerably longer than the XUV300 even though on the surface, it looks a lot like the XUV300.
Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV - Performance, Battery And Range
The Mahindra XUV400 gets a 150PS electric motor, which produces 310Nm of torque. It gets its energy from the 39.5kWh battery pack. According to the initial estimated range, the XUV400 can cover 456km on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 8.3 seconds and recharge to 80% from zero using a 50kW DC fast charger in 50 minutes.

The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV uses a heavily modified version of the frame, which already underpins the XUV300. The wheelbase of the XUV400 and the XUV300 is the same at 2600mm but the longer, 4200mm body, gives it a 378-litre boot space, which is considerably larger than the XUV300’s.

Besides the obvious features like sunroof, power windows, keyless entry and go and telematics, the XUV400 will also have the following notable features:
- 1-pedal driving with regenerative braking
- 3 drive modes with customised settings for throttle, regen and steering
- Battery heating and cooling for long life
- Waterproof battery pack with high-strength steel cage
- Over-the-air software updates
- Gamified driving behaviour
- New twin-peak logo in copper colour
- Dual-tone copper colour roof with blue exterior colour
- Copper colour exterior and interior accents

The XUV400 will arrive in the showrooms in December 2022. That’s when you can expect to take the test drive of the car but Mahindra will start conducting awareness events for the XUV400 a couple of months before that. The bookings for the Mahindra XUV400 will open in January 2023 and the price reveal will also happen in the same month. After the launch, Mahindra plan to start delivering the XUV400 before the end of January.
