Kia Launch Seltos Diesel Manual Variants With Prices Starting At Rs. 12.0 Lakh | V3Cars

Kia have launched the Seltos diesel equipped with a manual transmission in India at a starting price of Rs. 12.0 lakh. With the addition of the latest transmission, the Kia Seltos is now available with manual (MT), auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT), and torque converter (TC) options. The 2024 Kia Seltos diesel-manual is available in 5 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 12.0 lakh to Rs. 18.28 lakh. The Seltos diesel manual is not available in GT Line and X-Line trims. Booking for the Seltos diesel manual are currently open and deliveries are set to commence in February 2024.

When Kia launched the Seltos in 2019, the C-segment SUV was available with a diesel-manual transmission option. Later, Kia soon pulled the plug on this powertrain to promote the sales of its 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission. However, the Seltos diesel-ACMT was never able to achieve the same sales figures as the diesel manual. We believe Kia could have reintroduced the diesel-manual option to rival the recently launched Hyundai Creta facelift, which offers diesel-MT and diesel-TC options. The Creta’s diesel-manual variants are priced from Rs. 12.45 lakh to Rs. 18.74 lakh (ex-showroom), which is around Rs. 45,000 more expensive than the Kia Seltos diesel manual.

Kia Seltos Diesel Engine Specifications

The 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Kia Seltos produces 116PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2750rpm. Apart from the 6-speed manual transmission, the Seltos diesel is also available with a 6-speed ACMT and 6-speed TC.

Both the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta share the same engines, including the 1.5-litre diesel motor. However, while the Kia Seltos diesel is still available with the ACMT transmission, Hyundai no longer offer this option in any variants of the Creta facelift.

In other news, Kia have stated that they have sold 65,000 units of the Seltos facelift since its launch in July 2023. The Seltos facelift comes with features such as panoramic sunroof, ADAS, 6 airbags, 360-deree surround view monitor, dual-zone climate control, twin 10.25-inch displays for infotainment and driver info, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system.
