2022 Jeep Meridian Unveiling Tomorrow | V3Cars

Jeep India will unveil the 2022 Meridian 3-row SUV via a virtual event tomorrow. While we already know that the Jeep Meridian will be based on the Compass and offer 3 rows of seats, we will get to know the complete details of the SUV during the event. Butt before that, here’s everything we know so far about the Jeep Meridian.

2022 Jeep Meridian Exterior Design

The Jeep Meridian will get a distinctive design over the Compass on which it is based. The front end of the Meridian gets signature Jeep elements, such as the sleek 7-slat grille. However, on the Meridian, this grille is thinner and gets a honeycomb mesh and chrome garnishing to set it apart from the Compass. The grille is flanked by LED headlights with chrome surrounds. There’s generous use of chrome on the lower bumper as well, with a honeycomb mesh for the radiator inlets.

The Meridian features a long and butch side profile with chrome trim around the windows. The front doors get ‘Meridian’ badges and the ORVMs feature a chrome strip as well. Jeep are likely to offer the Meridian with 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the 3-row Meridian SUV is likely to get high-set, connected LED taillights, albeit slimmer than that of the Compass.

2022 Jeep Meridian Interiors

The interiors of the Jeep Meridian is expected to be similar to that of the Compass. A freestanding 10-inch touchscreen will take centre stage, atop the AC vents. The Meridian will offer dark tan leather upholstery and seating for 7 passengers. The middle row will get a tumble function for easy entry to the third row. It remains to be seen whether Jeep offer the Meridian with a 6-seater configuration or stick with the standard 7-seater configuration. The extended glass area for the third row should ensure the cabin feels bright and airy.

2022 Jeep Meridian Engine Specifications

Jeep India will reveal the technical specifications of the Meridian tomorrow. We expect the Meridian to be equipped with the 2.0L turbo-diesel engine from the Compass. It could produce the same 170PS of power at 3700rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm-2500rpm. The engine will come mated with a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. We expect only the automatic transmission to offer a 4-wheel-drive option whereas the manual will come with a front-wheel-drive only.

2022 Jeep Meridian Rivals and Expected Prices

Jeep India are expected to announce the prices of the Meridian in May 2022. It will rival the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, as well as the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and 2022 Hyundai Tucson. We expect Jeep to price the 2022 Meridian from Rs. 32 lakh ex-showroom.
