Jeep Meridian Spied On Indian Roads Again - India Unveil Soon | V3Cars

Jeep Meridian, codenamed H6, will make its India debut in mid-2022. Some spy shots of the Jeep Meridian surfaced online once again. Jeep are already selling the Meridian in Brazil, where it’s called the Commander. Jeep India should unveil the Meridian by mid-2022 as per their plans which were shared by the company previously.

Jeep Meridian is essentially a seven-seat model of the Compass. However, it gets multiple design changes over the Compass to have its own unique presence on the road. On the front, the Meridian will get a bigger 7-slat chrome grille, flanked by slimmer LED headlights. As we can see in the spy shots, the Meridian will get full LED headlights and fog lamps, just like the Compass. On side, the Meridian will get squared-off wheel arches with body cladding and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear profile of the Meridian will look a lot different from the Compass, thanks to its slimmer high-set LED taillights.

On the inside, the Meridian will get a similar multi-layered dashboard like the Compass. It will offer high-quality soft touch materials all around the cabin along with a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of features, the Meridian will offer a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control digital instrument cluster, 360-degree parking camera, Harman Kardon sound system and terrain and drive modes. Jeep India could offer 7- and 6-seat configurations with the Meridian.

On the powertrains front, rumours suggest that the Meridian would get a 2.0L diesel engine with a mild hybrid system. It could produce around 200PS and should come with a 6-speed manual and 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission, along with 4-wheel-drive. We expect Jeep India to also offer a turbo petrol engine with the Meridian. In the Brazilian market, Jeep offer the Meridian with a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 2.0L turbo diesel engine.

Jeep India should unveil the Meridian around June 2022. We expect Jeep India to launch the Compass Trailhawk before the Meridian. The Meridian will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq. Jeep India will launch three new SUVs in 2022 including the Meridian.
