2022 Jeep Meridian Bookings To Open On May 1 | V3Cars

Planning to buy the Jeep Meridian? Well, you’ll be happy to note that bookings for the 2022 Jeep Meridian 3-row SUV will begin on May 1. Meanwhile, Jeep is gearing up to launch the Meridian in June 2022. Unlike the Jeep Compass, which is available with petrol and diesel engines, the Meridian will only be offered with a single diesel engine. Jeep have chosen the 2.0L turbo diesel as the engine of choice for the Meridian. That said, this engine will be offered with 2 transmission options — a 6-speed manual (2WD) and a 9-speed torque converter automatic. The latter will be available with 2-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive options.

Jeep India recently revealed the India-spec Meridian via a virtual event and shared multiple technical details about the 3-row SUV. The 2022 Meridian will enjoy up to 80% localisation and hence, we can expect competitive pricing from the American SUV maker. Going forward, Jeep India will also launch the made-in-India Grand Cherokee later this year.

The 2022 Jeep Meridian will offer the following features:

As we stated earlier, the 2022 Meridian will come with a sole 2.0L turbo diesel engine. It produces 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4500rpm. While the 2.0L diesel automatic is only available with 4WD in the Compass, the Meridian also gets the option of the 9-speed automatic gearbox with front-wheel-drive. The Meridian will also get 2WD manual and 4WD automatic variants. Jeep claim that the Meridian offers a segment-best power-to-weight ratio of 95PS/ton.

The 2022 Jeep Meridian will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. We expect Jeep India to price the Meridian in the range of Rs. 28 lakh to Rs. 32 lakh ex-showroom.
