Hyundai Alcazar Engine Details Revealed | V3Cars

Hyundai recently teased the Alcazar in a short video where the SUV is visible wearing a light camouflage. Now, the carmaker has unveiled some more details about the Creta-based 7-seater SUV.

The Alcazar will be offered with two engine options: a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 159PS and 191Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 115PS and 250Nm. Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard with an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Although Hyundai has not revealed the fuel economy figures of the engines but claims that the Alcazar will have a best in class fuel economy. Hyundai also claims that the petrol Alcazar will have a 0-100kmph time of less than 10 seconds. 

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Alcazar will have a wheelbase of 2760mm, 150mm longer than the Creta and a boot space of 180L. The extra wheelbase should result in better legroom for both second and third-row of occupants. The Alcazar will be offered with both 6-and 7-seater configurations. While the 7-seater Alcazar will get a bench-type seat in the second row, the 6-seater Alcazar will be offered with captain seats. For added versatility, the second row of seats will be sliding and reclining, while the third row of seats will only be reclining. 

Other known features to be offered on the Alcazar include ventilated front seats, auto AC with dedicated AC vents for the 2nd and 3rd row and 18-inch diamond-cut alloys (Creta gets 17-inch alloys). The Alcazar will also borrow some features from the Creta like a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bose sound system, digital instrument cluster, wireless mobile charging, electronic parking brake, LED headlamps, upto 6 airbags, hill launch assist and electronic stability program. 

Hyundai is expected to launch the Alcazar in the coming few months. Prices are expected to range from Rs 11 lakh to 18 lakh. It will take on likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV500.
