MG Hector & Hector Plus EX Variants Launch Soon | V3Cars
MG Motor India are soon going to launch new EX variants of the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs to deal with the current semiconductor shortage. The new EX variants will go on sale alongside the current variants of the SUVs, albeit at a comparatively lower price. The EX variants are likely to offer fewer electronic features than the standard variants.
MG recently launched the EX variants of the Astor as well to deal with the semiconductor shortage. The EX variants missed out on a few safety features, such as electronic stability program (ESP), traction control, hill-hold control, hill descent control and blind spot detection.

In addition to the above-mentioned safety features, reports suggest that the Hector and Hector Plus EX variants will also miss out on features like dynamic turn indicators, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, electrically adjustable front passenger seat, 10.4-inch infotainment system, cruise control and a few connected car features.
The Hector EX variants will only come with the 1.5L turbo petrol and mild-hybrid turbo petrol engine. You will not be able to get this variant with the 2.0L turbo diesel engine. The 1.5L turbo petrol and mild-hybrid turbo petrol engines of the Hector produce 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque.

The price difference between the standard and EX variants of the Astor was between Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 12,000. We expect the price difference between the standard and EX variants of the Hector and Hector Plus to range between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 45,000.
While the new variants are likely to lose out on the value-for-money quotient, their waiting period is likely to be less than the standard variant thanks to fewer electronics. We expect the new variants to go on sale soon. The Hector is also likely to receive a facelift this festive season.
