Ford Figo 6-speed Automatic Transmission Launch Tomorrow

Ford Figo Automatic Launch Tomorrow | V3Cars

Ford has officially confirmed that it will launch the Figo automatic on 22 July. It will be offered with a petrol engine only. This is not the first time Ford will offer an automatic transmission with the Figo automatic as the hatchback was offered with a 1.5-litre petrol-automatic powertrain in the BS4 era.

The Figo automatic will be equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission paired to the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine making 96PS and 119Nm. Currently, this engine is offered with a 5-speed MT only. The diesel engine on offer is a 1.5-litre unit making 100PS and 215Nm paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Ford might also introduce the 6-speed AT on both Aspire and Freestyle as both the cars are offered with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the Figo.

Ford is expected to offer the automatic transmission on the Titanium and Titanium Blu variants only. So, expect the Figo automatic to get features like up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, parking camera, auto AC, height-adjustable driver’s seat, auto-dimming IRVM, tilt-adjustable steering, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth (without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), push-button start, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps.

The American carmaker might also introduce some exclusive features on the Figo automatic in the form of hill launch assist, traction control and electronic stability control like it did with the older Figo automatic.

Currently, the Figo is priced from Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 8.37 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the introduction of an automatic transmission, expect the prices to go up by up to Rs 1 lakh. The Figo AT will compete with the likes of the Maruti Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios both of which are offered with an AMT.
