In this February 2023 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment Hatchback February 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

The Maruti Baleno was the only B2-segment hatchback with 5-figure sales numbers in February YoY comparison
Hyundai i20 saw a YoY gain of 59% and was the highest gainer in the B2-segment hatchback category
The Baleno was the next best gainer in the category, with a 48% YoY growth in February 2023
Altroz saw a YoY decline of 21% in the category
Jazz saw a massive 100% decline in dispatches in February YoY comparison and reported zero sales in the month of February as well. It might be discontinued given that its engine is not compliant with the upcoming RDE norms
Volkswagen Polo has been discontinued

B2-Segment Hatchback February 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

In terms of MoM sales figures, the Glanza was the top gainer, with a 27% gain in sales figures
Glanza was followed by the Baleno and i20, each with around 13.5% MoM growth in sales
The Altroz was the top loser, with a 30% MoM decline in sales in February over January
Zero units of the Honda Jazz were sold in January and February as well
