Electric Cars In India Under Rs. 20 Lakh - October 2022 | V3Cars
Tata Motors recently launched the country’s only sub-Rs. 10 lakh electric car, the Tiago EV. With this, there are now a total of 4 electric cars sold in India with a sticker price of less than Rs. 20 lakh. Interestingly, all 4 cars are from the same manufacturer, Tata Motors.
Here is the list of EVs sold in India under Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom):
1. Tata Tiago EV
The latest as well as the most affordable on the list is the Tata Tiago EV. Launched just a week ago, the Tiago EV has become India’s most affordable electric car one can buy. The Tiago EV is available with 2 battery pack options — 19.2kW and 24kW. The former has a claimed range of 250km while the latter has a claimed range of 315km. The prices of the Tiago EV start from Rs. 8.50 lakh and go up to Rs. 11.80 lakh. The bookings for the EV start on October 10 while the deliveries will begin from January 2023.

2. Tata Tigor EV
Last year, Tata launched their second mass-market EV in the form of the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV uses a 26kWh battery pack. Its single motor, which is placed on the front axle, produces 74.7PS of power and 170Nm of torque. It has a claimed range of 306km. The Tigor EV was launched at Rs. 12 lakh. However, its prices now start from Rs. 12.50 lakh and go up to Rs. 13.64 lakh (ex-showroom).

3. Tata Nexon EV Prime
The third car on the list is Tata’s first passenger EV, the Nexon EV Prime. It is worth noting that the Nexon EV Prime is currently the highest-selling EV in India. It uses a 30.2kWh battery and produces 129PS of power and 245Nm of torque. It has a claimed range of 312km. The Nexon EV costs between Rs. 15 lakh and Rs. 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Tata Nexon EV Max
The Tata Nexon EV Max is essentially the long-range version of the standard Nexon EV Prime. It uses a 40.5kW battery pack and delivers a claimed range of 437km, which is 125km more than the Nexon EV Prime. Its motor produces 143PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The Nexon EV Max costs between Rs. 18.34 lakh and Rs. 20.04 lakh (ex-showroom).
