Citroen India Commence Bookings For eC3 Hatchback | V3Cars

Citroen India commenced bookings for the eC3 electric hatchback for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. Interested buyers can book their eC3 from any Citroen dealership or via the brand’s website. Like the C3, Citroen will offer the eC3 in 2 variants — Live and Feel.

Citroen eC3 Hatchback Details

Citroen launched the C3 hatchback in July and 6 months later, the carmaker introduced its all-electric counterpart — the eC3. The eC3 doesn’t offer many design changes over its ICE-powered counterpart. The only perceptible change is the presence of a charging port on the driver-side front fender. It is interesting to note that Citroen haven't removed the fuel filler cap on the eC3 to save costs.

Citroen eC3 Hatchback Powertrain Details

Citroen eC3 comes with a 29.2kWh battery pack that is air-cooled. It sits under the floor of the eC3, which reduces its ground clearance to 170mm compared to 180mm of that of the C3. The battery channels power to a front-mounted electric motor that produces 57PS of power and 143Nm of torque. The eC3 offers an MIDC-certified range of 320km on a single charge. As per Citroen, the eC3 can do 0-60kmph in 6.8 seconds whereas its top speed is limited to 107kmph. In terms of charging, the eC3 supports 3.3kW AC home charging that takes around 10.5 hours for a full charge whereas a DC fast charger takes 57 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

Citroen eC3 Hatchback Warranty Details, Launch Timeline And Rivals

Citroen India offer a 7-year/1,40,000km warranty for the battery pack and 3-year/1,25,000km vehicle warranty with the eC3. The carmaker is likely to announce the prices of the eC3 towards the end of January and it will be available at Citroen dealerships from February onwards. The eC3 will go up against the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV.
