Bolero Neo Plus 9-Seater SUV To Launch Soon | V3Cars
Mahindra axed the TUV300 and TUV 300 Plus in 2020 due to BS6 norms and low popularity. Last year, they did a clever job of re-introducing the TUV300 in the market with the Bolero Neo nameplate. The TUV300 also had a bigger, 9-seater version called the TUV300 Plus. Now, reports suggest that Mahindra will re-introduce the TUV300 Plus as the Bolero Neo Plus.
Mahindra will use the same formula this time as they used with the Bolero Neo. The Bolero Neo Plus will be nothing but a facelift of the now-discontinued TUV300 Plus. The Bolero Neo Plus will look mostly the same as the Bolero Neo. Due to its premium positioning, we can expect features like projector headlamps, some more chrome upfront, new alloy wheel design, tweaked taillights, etc. on the Bolero Neo Plus.
The Bolero Neo Plus will measure more than 4 metres in length and hence, won’t enjoy the tax benefits that the Bolero Neo does. It will feature 2 seating configurations; 7-seater and 9-seater. Both of them will feature front-facing seats in the 1st and 2nd row. The 7-seater version will have 2 jump seats in the 3rd row. On the other hand, the 9-seater version will have a bit wider, side-facing bench seats in the 3rd row to accommodate 4 people. Reports also suggest an ambulance version to make its way with seating for 4 people and a patient.

The Bolero Neo Plus will likely make use of the same engine as the TUV300 Plus did. It will likely get a 2.2L turbo diesel engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The same powertrain also powers the lower variants of the Scorpio. It produces 120PS of power in normal mode, 94PS of power in eco mode and 280Nm of torque. The Bolero Neo Plus will use the same body-on-frame platform as the Bolero Neo with a rear-wheel-drive setup.

The features list of the Bolero Neo Plus will likely mimic that of the Bolero Neo. Key features of the Bolero Neo include:
- A 7-inch touchscreen infotainment
- Steering-mounted controls
- Cruise control
- Front and rear centre armrests
- Multi-terrain technology (MTT). The MTT works similar to locking the rear differential by engaging the brakes on the wheel without traction.
We can also expect features like a rear parking camera and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with the Bolero Neo Plus. The Bolero Neo Plus will find its major rivals in the house of Mahindra itself, which include the Bolero Neo, the upcoming Scorpio Classic and the Mahindra Marazzo MPV.
