BMW X3 Petrol Variants Removed From Website — M40i Launch Soon | V3Cars

BMW India have removed the petrol variants of the X3 from their website. The carmaker will soon launch the X3 M40i, which is a sportier version of the regular X3. Read on to know more details about the 2023 BMW X3.

BMW X3 Petrol Variants Discontinued

Last month, BMW launched new diesel variants of the X3 — the xDrive 20d xLine and xDrive 20d M Sport. Now, BMW have discontinued the petrol variants of the X3 SUV. Thus, the X3 is currently only available with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine in xLine and M Sport variants. The prices of the BMW X3 now start from Rs. 67.90 lake and go up to Rs. 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The reason behind the discontinuation of the petrol variants of the X3 is unknown. It could be BMW’s tactic to motivate prospective buyers of the X3 petrol to shell out extra and get the upcoming X3 M40i. BMW may reintroduce the regular petrol variants of the X3 after the launch of the X3 M40i.

BMW X3 M40i xDrive Details

The upcoming X3 M40i shares its powertrain with the BMW M340i sedan. It comes with a 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol engine that produces 382PS of power between 5800rpm and 6500rpm and 500Nm of torque between 1800rpm and 5000rpm. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The X3 M40i is capable of sprinting from standstill to 100kmph in just 4.4 seconds.

You can now book the BMW X3 M40i with a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh. Since it will be brought to India in limited numbers, BMW are only accepting online bookings on a first come, first serve basis. The carmaker will announce the prices of the X3 M40i in May 2023.
