In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all MPVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.

MPV Segment August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among the MPVs, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Eeco were the top 2 performers in August. The Eeco still stands at the top, with 12,000 monthly dispatches in August 2022, while Ertiga fell out of the 10k club in July
The next best performers in the MPV segment were the Toyota Innova Crysta, Kia Carens and Renault Triber
Among the losers were the Marazzo and Triber, with a 75% decline in sales, followed by the Kia Carnival, with a 28% YoY drop in August 2022

MPV Segment August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

In terms of MoM change, MPV sales declined across the board. The only exception was the Toyota Vellfire, which saw a growth of 168%, pushing its dispatch numbers into triple digits
The XL6 was the biggest loser in the month of August 2022, with a 37% decline, followed by Triber with a near 17% decline. This is excluding the low volume Marazzo’s figures.
