2024 Mercedes Benz E-Class Revealed

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Revealed Globally | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz have taken the wraps off the 2024 E-Class. The new E-Class continues to bridge the gap between the C-Class — often referred to as the ‘baby S-Class’ — and the flagship S-Class sedan. The 2024 E-Class is bigger and more luxurious than the model it replaces.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Exterior Details

While the C-Class borrows its design from the S-Class, the new E-Class seems closer to its all electric counterpart — the EQE. At the front, the new E-Class comes with a larger radiator grille with horizontal chrome slats and the 3-pointed star sitting on the bonnet. The LED headlights now seamlessly merge into the grille — similar to the EQE electric sedan. The AMG Line variants, on the other hand, offer a sportier grille with chrome studs and a large 3-pointed star in the middle.

The new E-Class is also longer than the model it replaces thanks to a 22mm longer wheelbase. The added length not only gives it a more prominent stance but also improves spec inside the cabin. It is worth mentioning that the India-bound model will incorporate an even longer wheelbase, in the form of the E-Class LWB. At the rear, the new E-Class offers split LED tail lights with a unique tri-star LED element inside the tail lights. The AMG Line variants further add sportier bumper and faux exhaust outlets.

The new infotainment runs on the latest MBUX interface and incorporates music streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music for a seamless experience. The optional passenger-side entertainment screen further offers streaming options along with fun games as well.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers a range of electrified petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel engine options come with a 48V mild-hybrid system as standard whereas Mercedes-Benz also offer plug-in hybrid powertrains as well. Thanks to a new battery, the mild hybrid system now puts out 23PS of power and 205Nm of torque. While the E-Class will only offer 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options at launch, the carmaker plan to add 6-cylinder engines in the near future, followed by more-powerful AMG variants.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E Class India Launch Details

Mercedes-Benz India will launch the new E-Class in the second half of 2024. Unlike the Euro-spec E-Class, the India-bound E-Class will offer a longer wheelbase over the standard model. In fact, the Indian market will continue to remain the only market to get the long-wheelbase E-Class with the right-hand-drive configuration. The new E-Class will continue to rival other premium sedans like the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and Volvo S90.
