Hyundai have released a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the new Creta facelift’s manufacturing process. The latest press release from Hyundai details the 2024 Creta’s journey from sheet metal to a premium product.
Hyundai have adopted three key pillars for the success of the new Creta facelift. They are:
- Advanced Body Strength
- Rigorous Testing
- Superior Quality
To this extent, the new Creta facelift utilises a generous amount of advanced high strength steel to increase durability and ensure the bodyshell does not corrode over the years. The strong structure of the new Creta also ensures improved levels of side impact protection. Hyundai also mention how the Creta’s 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines are tested across diverse landscapes to ensure durability and strength. Additionally, the Creta’s facelift’s new ADAS features are calibrated meticulously to ensure occupants are safe at all times.

Chennai, January 23, 2024: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) today released a behind-the-scenes glimpse into manufacturing of the new Hyundai CRETA at its state-of-the-art production facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
Commenting on the manufacturing journey of the new Hyundai CRETA, Mr. Gopala Krishnan C.S., Chief Manufacturing Officer (CMO) of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said:

The new-Hyundai CRETA’s journey from sheet metal to a premium product focus on three key pillars:
Advanced Body Strength, Rigorous Testing and Superior Quality.
Ensuring occupants are cocooned in a cabin of safety, HMIL created an exo-skeleton that offers structural reinforcement at key joints.
Advanced Body Strength:
The new Hyundai CRETA cocoons the passengers and offers them a safer ride, this has been ensured with the usage of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) to increase durability and anti-corrosive properties for the bodyshell.
Keeping up with the global safety standards, the new Hyundai CRETA’s strong structure comes with an increased thickness of side reinforcement and new parts.
In alignment with HMIL’s global body-build line, the advanced body shop features intelligent weld management system which is used to achieve a 100 per -cent weld strength.
The superior levels of body dimensional precision are made using robust jig fixtures, and are confirmed using state-of-the-art Coordinate Measuring Machine automated 3D scanner systems. Promising lively consistent performance out on the road, the new Hyundai CRETA’s powertrains are tested rigorously for endurance.
Rigorous testing of the heart of new Hyundai CRETA:
Designed to deliver new benchmarks in performance, the new Hyundai CRETA offers dynamic powertrains including the sublime 1.5l Gamma MPi, torquey 1.5l U2 CRDI and the ferocious Kappa 1.5l Turbo GDI which have been tested for diverse landscape endurance.
The Powertrains are monitored for their performance using in-process quality confirmation systems including the machine learning based boroscope inspection and advanced express vision system. The assembled engines are then put through a rigorous test on a cutting edge eco-friendly cold test bed and passes through various quality gates for quality assurance.
Hyundai’s advanced automated quality checks ensure a supreme fit finish of the new Hyundai CRETA. Automated ADAS calibration ensures occupants are wafted away in safety, every time.
Superior Quality Safety through meticulous checks:
The new-Hyundai CRETA comes with advanced Level 2 ADAS features. The highly efficient and automated ADAS calibration system follows a closed loop calibration process. This ensures a seamless integration of the complete ADAS suite in the vehicle, improving the driving experience. In HMIL’s pursuit to maintain the highest quality standards, the new Hyundai CRETA is put through the Hyundai Integrated Vehicle Inspection System to confirm the torque values in real-time.
Hyundai’s Automated Diagnostic System is used to confirm the vehicles’ advanced electronic features, ensuring customers experience utmost delight.
At HMIL’s IT-integrated production facility where productivity is augmented by PLCs and embedded systems, the new-Hyundai CRETA as a final point undergoes rigorous road test with 15 drive tracks simulating various road driving conditions.
