2023 Tata Safari Facelift Spotted Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

The test cars were heavily covered in camouflage but we managed to extract a few details. To start with, the new Safari facelift will offer a revised front grille. The updated grille will likely be larger than the unit on the current model. The Safari facelift could also feature a connected light bar at the front, similar to that of the recently showcased Harrier EV. Furthermore, the Safari facelift will offer vertically-positioned LED headlights whereas the current model offers a horizontal placement for the headlights.

The side profile will remain unchanged compared to the current model, save for a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the Safari facelift could boast a new design for the LED tail lights and a new bumper design with a skid plate. Overall, the front profile of the Safari features a bulk of the changes and these are likely to make their way into the Harrier facelift as well. We could also expect some of the new design cues to trickle over to the Nexon facelift, which was recently spotted testing.

On the inside, the Safari facelift could feature an updated dashboard. Since Tata Motors recently updated the Safari with their new infotainment system and instrument cluster, we expect the same technology to trickle down to the facelift as well, albeit with a better packaging and more cohesive fitment. Currently, the Safari facelift offers features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, front and rear ventilated seats and electrically-adjustable driver and co-driver seats.

2023 Tata Safari Facelift Powertrain Details

We could not make out if the 2 Safari test cars we spotted were powered by a diesel engine or Tata’s new petrol engine. At the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Motors showcased their new 1.2L and 1.5L turbo petrol engines and the latter will feature in the Harrier and Safari SUVs soon. Tata Motors say the new 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 170PS of power and 280Nm of torque. Furthermore, the Safari will continue to offer the FCA-sourced 2.0L turbo diesel engine that produces 170PS of power and 320Nm of torque.

Similarly, Tata could refresh their entire SUV range before the 2023 festive season, which could include the Harrier facelift, Safari facelift and Nexon facelift.
