The new spy shots reveal that the Nexon facelift is nearing its production form. Even though the test car was wrapped in camouflage, it had the production-spec headlights, tail lights and interior instruments. Looking at the images, one can tell that the Nexon is set to receive a major overhaul with the coming facelift, which should give it a new life compared to its fresher rivals.

Speaking of other exterior details, the Nexon facelift is likely to offer a split LED headlight that will make it fall in line with the smaller Punch and larger Harrier SUVs. It could feature a connected LED light bar covering the width of the front and merging with the Tata logo at the centre. Around the side, the Nexon facelift continues to come with wheel arch cladding and flared wheel arches. The new facelift could offer a new design for the 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the Nexon facelift will offer slimmer LED tail lights with a connected LED light bar and sequential turn indicators.

On the inside, the Nexon facelift could offer a revamped dashboard design with better quality materials and features. The centre of the dashboard is likely to host Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also boast Tata’s new 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Other features of the Nexon facelift could include a wireless phone charger, full-colour LCD instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, multi-drive modes and paddle shifters.

2023 Tata Nexon Facelift — Powertrain Details

The new 2023 Nexon facelift could mark the debut of Tata’s new 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine. The top petrol variants of the Nexon could offer 125PS of power and 225Nm of torque output. Tata are likely to offer this engine with the option of both 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Furthermore, Tata are likely to retain the current 1.5L turbo diesel engine that produces 110PS of power and 260Nm of torque. The diesel engine is likely to retain the current 6-speed manual and 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

Since the Nexon is currently one of the oldest SUVs in the B2-segment space, Tata Motors could launch the Nexon facelift as early as August this year. We expect Tata to reveal the model in July and also commence its bookings. The new Nexon is likely to be Tata’s offering for the upcoming festive season. It will rival the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue facelift. Its other segment rivals include the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
