2023 Hyundai Kona Electric Revealed With 490km Claimed Range | V3Cars
Hyundai have revealed the battery specifications and features of the 2023 Kona electric SUV. The new Kona Electric comes with a 65.4kWh battery pack, promising a range of up to 490km on a single charge.
2023 Hyundai Kona Electric Revealed
Hyundai revealed the first images of the Kona Electric a couple of weeks ago and now we have its complete details in hand. The new Kona Electric offers an all-new design with a drag coefficient of 0.27. It even offers active air flaps and frunk storage to increase its range and practicality, respectively. Its unique exterior design elements include a connected LED light bar, split LED headlights and connected LED rear light bar with split LED tail lights.

2023 Hyundai Kona Electric Interiors And Features
On the inside, the new Kona Electric offers a new dashboard layout, which features twin 12.3-inch connected screens. It also gets connected AC vents and physical buttons for multimedia and climate control. Other features include a head-up display, adaptive regenerative braking, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle to load (V2L) charging.
2023 Hyundai Kona Electric Powertrain Details
Hyundai offer the 2023 Kona Electric with 2 battery pack options — standard range with 48.4kWh battery and long range with 65.4kWh battery. The long range model offers 217PS of power and 255Nm of torque and a claimed range of up to 490km on a single charge. Both the standard range and long range models of the Kona Electric come with a 2WD drivetrain. In terms of charging, the new Kona Electric can be charged from 10 - 80 per cent in 41 minutes with a DC fast charger.

Furthermore, the Kona offers the widest range of powertrain options in its class, which includes internal-combustion, strong hybrid and long range and short range electric drivetrains. The Kona also comes in a sporty N Line trim to target enthusiasts.
2023 Hyundai Kona Electric India Launch Details
Hyundai currently offer the first-gen Kona Electric in the Indian market. Since the new Kona Electric has been revealed, we expect Hyundai to bring the new Kona Electric to our shores in early 2024. For this year, Hyundai launched the Ioniq 5 electric crossover at the 2023 Auto Expo at a price tag of Rs. 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The current Kona Electric SUV, which is on sale in India, is much more affordable, with a price tag ranging from Rs. 23.84 lakh to Rs. 24.03 lakh (ex-showroom).
