2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift Leaked Ahead Of Official Debut

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift Leaked Ahead Of Official Debut | V3Cars

Volkswagen debuted the Tiguan facelift back in May 2020 while the bigger Tiguan Allspace was left untouched. Now, it seems like VW is working on the facelifted Tiguan Allspace as images of the updated SUV have been leaked ahead of its official debut.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Facelift

As expected, the Tiguan Allspace facelift looks similar to the standard Tiguan facelift. It features new swept-back LED headlamps flanking the redesigned wider front grille. The front bumper is also new with redesigned air dams, a faux skid plate and huge C-shaped chrome elements.

The side and rear profiles remain largely unchanged save for a new set of alloy wheels and slightly updated LED tail lamps. The leaked images do not reveal anything about the interior of the updated SUV but we expect it to be similar to the current model as was the case with the Tiguan facelift.

Expect the Tiguan Allspace facelift to make its global debut later this year and VW is likely to bring it to India only in 2022. VW launched the current Tiguan Allspace in India in March 2020 as a CBU import. While the first batch of the 7-seater was sold out by January 2021, the carmaker has confirmed that the second batch will soon be available in showrooms along with the T-ROC SUV.

VW Passat

The pre-facelift Tiguan Allspace is priced in India at Rs 34.20 lakh (ex-showroom India). It takes on likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq petrol.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen is all set to launch the Tiguan facelift in India. It is expected to go on sale in May 2021. It will feature new aesthetics, added features and a 2.0-litre turbo TSI petrol engine. It is the same engine that powers the current Tiguan Allspace. It makes 190PS and 320Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. While on the Allspace, this gearbox is offered with a 4Motion 4WD system, the Tiguan facelift is expected to be available in a 2WD configuration only.

Prices expected to range from Rs 28 lakh to Rs 32 lakh. It will take on likes of the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the Citroen C5 Aircross.
