Skoda is all set to unveil the 2021 Kodiaq facelift on 13 April 2021. And while the official date is still a few weeks away, the carmaker has teased the updated SUV in a series of official sketches.

2021 Skoda Kodiaq Facelift

From what is visible in the sketches, the cosmetic updates on the Kodiaq facelift are of an easy-to-miss kind. It gets slimmer headlamps flanking the mildly updated grille which is now wider and features a thick chrome surround. The front bumper is also redesigned with a wider central air intake. The side and rear profile look identical save a slimmer LED tail lamps and possibly new alloy wheels.

The sketches do not reveal anything about the interior of the updated SUV but it is expected to be similar to the pre-facelift model. Mild updated might come in the form of a new bi-spoke steering wheel and updated upholstery.

Additional features on offer should include a larger touchscreen infotainment system and connected car tech while the existing feature list includes adaptive LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, powered front seats, 3-zone AC, a 360-degree camera and upto 7 airbags.

The most noticeable change on the Kodiaq facelift will be under its hood. In India, the Kodiaq facelift will get a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine replacing the 2.0-litre TDI engine seen on the pre-facelift model. It makes 190PS and 320Nm paired to a 7-speed DSG. It will also get a 4WD system similar to what VW offers on the Tiguan Allspace.

Skoda has already confirmed that it will launch the Kodiaq facelift in India in Q3 2021 (July to September). Prices are expected to range from Rs 35 lakh to Rs 38 lakh. It will take on likes of the Citroen C5 Aircross and VW Tiguan Allspace. Pricewise, it will also compete with body-on-frame SUVs like the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.
