2022 Hyundai Venue Facelift Spied On Indian Roads | V3Cars
The Hyundai Venue facelift has been spotted on Indian roads for the first time. Hyundai have been testing the Venue facelift in South Korea but recently, a publication spotted a test car near Hyundai’s manufacturing facility in Chennai. While the test car was covered in camouflage, it is possible to make out some details from the images. Hyundai could launch the Venue facelift in India later this year.
The Hyundai Venue was launched in 2019 and since then, it’s rivals have received several updates. However, that’s not to say that the Venue has become outdated. But it could do with an update or two to entice potential customers in a strongly fought segment.
Hyundai Venue Facelift Design
As per the spied image, there won’t be any major changes at the front. However, we expect a new grille with bolder chrome elements, flanking the same split headlight design. The spy shots also reveal new alloy wheels, which show an uncanny resemblance to the styled wheel covers seen on the Venue SX that is currently on sale. Most of us criticised the Venue for its rather tiny LED taillights. However, it seems Hyundai have listened to the critics as the spy shot show a larger split LED design for the taillights.
We expect several changes on the inside of the new Venue. Hyundai could offer a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, drive modes, and traction modes. It would be interesting to see if Hyundai also offer premium features like ventilated seats, a smart air purifier, and Bose sound system seen on the Kia Sonet. We do not expect any changes to the dimensions of the Hyundai Venue.
Hyundai Venue Facelift Engine Options
On the powertrain front, Hyundai is likely to continue with the three engine options it offers currently. The 1.2L normal petrol engine, which produces 83PS of power and 113Nm of torque, will continue to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine, which produces 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque, will be offered with the choice of a 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 1.5L turbo-diesel, which produces 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque, will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. It remains to be seen if Hyundai adds a diesel automatic option with the Venue facelift. However, Hyundai could discontinue the 6-speed manual transmission option with the 1.0L turbo petrol.
We expect Hyundai India to launch the Venue facelift later this year, most likely before the festive season. The updated Hyundai Venue facelift will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
