Exclusive - 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno To Get Self-Centering Steering Wheel | V3Cars
We can now confirm that Maruti Suzuki have added a self-centering steering wheel mechanism to the 2022 Baleno. Maruti Suzuki cars are infamous for their lack of self-centering ability with the steering rack. It required extra effort from the driver to center the steering wheel, especially at low speeds and while parking.
The lack of self-centering ability was a huge cause for concern among owners of the outgoing Baleno. Maruti aims to address this issue with the 2022 Baleno, as it did with the launch of the third-gen Swift in 2018
If you have been following our exclusive updates on the 2022 Baleno, then you may already know that the premium hatchback will now borrow the Swift’s D-cut steering wheel. Additionally, it will also feature cruise control and lane keep assist in the top trims.

Maruti Suzuki will launch the 2022 Baleno on February 23. It will offer new features like a 360-degree parking camera, a head-up display, rear AC vents, 6 airbags, ESP, automatic headlamps, telematics, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has traded the outgoing model’s normal and mild-hybrid engines for the normal dual-jet petrol engine. The 1.2L normal petrol engine produces 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. The new Baleno will be offered with two transmission options — a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Thanks to the addition of AMT, we expect the automatic variants to be priced similar to the CVT-equipped variants of the outgoing model. Maruti Suzuki is likely to price the Baleno from Rs. 6.3 lakh to Rs. 9.5 lakh ex-showroom.
