2021 Mahindra XUV500 Interior Spied; Looks Production Ready | V3Cars

It is a known fact Mahinda has been working on the second-gen XUV500 and the SUV has spied testing on several occasions. In the latest spy shots, the SUV’s interior can be seen without any camouflage and it looks modern and loaded with tech.

On the inside, the 2021 XUV500 features a completely redesigned cabin with a dual-tone black-biege upholstery. It also gets a new steering wheel which sits in front of the new digital instrument cluster. The test mule spied here is an automatic variant as visible from the markings on the central floor console and the ‘P’ marking on the digital instrument cluster. 

Other elements visible in the spy shots include a secondary screen for the touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start and a central armrest. It also gets a manual parking brake suggesting it could be a lower variant of the upcoming SUV. 

XUV500 Interior

Features on offer should include a panoramic sunroof, auto LED headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, connected car tech and dual-zone AC. The second-gen XUV500 is expected to be first car in its class to get Level 1 autonomous features like blind spot monitoring system, lane keep assist and autonomous braking along with other safety features like multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill launch assist, hill descent control, traction control and electronic parking brake. 

Under the hood, the new XUV500 is expected to share its engines and transmissions with the second-gen Thar but in a higher state of tune. The Thar gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired to a 6-speed MT as well as a 6-speed torque converter automatic. In the higher variants, the second-gen XUV500 might get 4WD variants as well, like the current model. 

Mahindra is expected to launch the second-gen XUV500 in the coming few months. Prices are expected to range from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. It will take on likes of the MG Hector Plus and the upcoming SUVs like the Tata Safari and the Creta 7-seater.
