The third-gen Safari is 4661mm long, 1894mm wide and 1786mm tall. It not the longest (Hector Plus is 4720mm long) but the widest and the tallest SUV in its class. It is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than the Harrier while the width has remained unchanged. Its extra width and height should result in better headroom and shoulder room for the second and third row of occupants. The Safari has a wheelbase of 2741mm which is identical to that of the Harrier but 9mm less than its arch-rival, MG Hector Plus. The wheelbase is the distance between the centre of the front and rear wheels. A longer wheelbase usually results in better legroom.

The Tata Safari has a boot space of just 73 litres with all three rows up. It can be increased up to 910 litres by folding second and third-row seats.
