Volkswagen have released teasers of the new Virtus ahead of its global debut on March 8. It will be based on the heavily localised MQB A0 IN platform and replace the Vento in India. It will share its platform and powertrain with the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Skoda Slavia.
The teaser gives a sneak peek at the front end of the sedan, including its headlamp setup. The new sedan will get a LED headlight setup with LED DRLs underlining them, similar to the one seen on the Taigun. The two-slat grille and bumper will have a chrome finish to them. In terms of dimensions, it will be longer than the outgoing Vento and resemble the Skoda Slavia, which currently boasts of the longest wheelbase in the segment.

We expect the interior of the Virtus to resemble the Taigun. The Virtus will get features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric sunroof, digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and front ventilated seats.
The Volkswagen Virtus will rival other C-segment sedans like the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Volkswagen are likely to launch the Virtus in Q2 of 2022. We expect Volkswagen to price the Virtus in the range of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
