Volvo To Launch The XC40 Recharge On July 26 | V3Cars

Volvo India will launch the XC40 Recharge on July 26. Volvo will locally assemble the XC40 Recharge and we expect it to undercut other premium electric SUvs like the Mercedes-EQ EQC and Jaguar I-Pace.

After a delay of more than 1 year, Volvo are set to launch their first all-electric SUV offering. Volvo showcased the XC40 Recharge back in March 2021 and since then, Volvo have revealed the XC40 Recharge globally. The same facelifted XC40 Recharge will now hit our shores on July 26.

The XC40 Recharge facelift comes with tweaked LED headlights, enclosed front grille, new design for the alloy wheels and new rear bumper. In terms of features, the XC40 Recharge offers a panoramic sunroof, vertically-stacked touchscreen infotainment system with inbuilt Google maps, Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree parking camera and cross traffic alerts.

Volvo XC40 Recharge comes with a 78kWh battery pack with two electric motors. Both electric motors offer a power and torque output of 408PS and 660Nm. The XC40 Recharge comes with a range of 418km on a single charge and we expect its real-world range to be around 300km. It can also do 0-100kmph in 4.90 seconds.

We expect Volvo to price the XC40 Recharge against the recently-launched Kia EV6. Kia India launched the EV6 with two drivetrain options — 2WD at Rs. 59.95 lakh and 4WD at Rs. 64.95 lakh ex-showroom. While Kia brought the EV6 via the CBU route, their sister brand Hyundai are considering local assembly for the Ioniq 5 electric crossover.
