Volkswagen Virtus Spied; Is This The New Vento? | V3Cars
Volkswagen Virtus is the brand’s compact sedan that is already on sale globally and now it has been spotted testing in India. The car spotted testing was an LHD (left-hand drive) model suggesting it could be a test mule for component testing for the next-gen Vento which is expected to go on sale in India later this year. We say so as the next-gen Vento will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform which is a localised version of the MQB A0 platform that underpins the Virtus sedan globally.
The next-gen Vento will go on sale after the Taigun SUV which is expected to go on sale in the coming few months. VW is expected to launch the next-gen sedan by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
Based on the MQB A0 IN platform, the next-gen Vento is expected to be bigger than the current model. The Virtus is also bigger than the current Vento and here is a comparison:

Under the hood, the next-gen Vento will continue to come with the same 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine as the current model. It makes 110PS and 175Nm paired to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Features on offer should include upto 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, traction control, auto AC with rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, connected car tech and touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As mentioned above, Volkswagen is expected to launch the next-gen Vento by the end of 2021 or early 2021. It is expected to be priced at a premium over the current model which retails from Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom India). It will continue to take on likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Toyota Yaris and the next-gen Rapid.
