Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus GT Limited Collection Launch In June | V3Cars

Volkswagen India recently unveiled the GT Limited Collection variants of the Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan. The Taigun and Virtus GT Limited Collection variants are available with the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and feature unique paint options Know more here.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Limited Collection

The GT Limited Collection of the Taigun SUV offers 2 colour options — black and matte grey. Both colour options will go on sale from June 2023 onwards in limited numbers for a limited period of time. The black colour will be available with the Taigun GT Plus DCT and MT with all the features and design elements borrowed from the Taigun GT Plus.

The matte grey colour will be available with the GT Plus DCT and MT transmission options. It will offer an exterior matte grey colour along with gloss black touches on the door handles, side mirrors and rear spoiler. Furthermore, it also boasts red stripes around the front bumper, front and rear doors and rear bumper.

Volkswagen Virtus GT Limited Collection

Unlike the Taigun, which offers 2 colour options within the Limited Collection range, the Virtus only offers a black colour option. The black colour in the Virtus will be available with the GT Plus DCT and the upcoming GT Plus MT variant with all the GT elements. The elements exclusive to the Virtus GT are ‘GT’ emblems on front grille, fenders and boot lid, black 16-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, black interior with red inserts, red stitching for leatherette seats, aluminum pedals and red ambient lighting.

Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus GT Powertrain Details

Both the Volkswagen Taigun GT and Virtus GT come with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 150PS of power at 6000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 3500rpm. This engine also offers active cylinder deactivation that shuts off 2 of the 4 cylinders when cruising at a constant speed to aid fuel efficiency. Currently, the Taigun GT offers the option of both 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Virtus GT, on the other hand, only offers the dual-clutch automatic option as of now. However, Volkswagen will soon launch the Virtus GT with a manual transmission as well.
