Volkswagen Taigun Interior Officially Unveiled | V3Cars
Volkswagen debuted the production-spec Taigun on 31 March 2021. However, the carmaker did not reveal anything about the SUV’s interior. Volkswagen has now revealed the Taigun’s interior via a rendered image.
Taigun’s cabin looks similar to its concept. It gets a multi-layered dashboard with a body-coloured panel running across its width. While in the rendered image the cabin comprises of black, silver and grey colours, the Taigun will get a coloured coded cabin depending on its exterior colour.
The central console layout of the Taigun looks quite similar to the Kusaq. It features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment sitting at the top of the central AC vents with controls for the AC placed below the vents. However, while in the Kushaq the touchscreen in a floating unit, on the Taigun, it is placed in housing. That said, the AC control unit on the Taigun is a straight lift from the Kushaq. The Taigun is equipped with a 3-spoke steering wheel, unlike the bi-spoke seen on the Kushaq. It also gets a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster unlike the analogue unit offered on the Kusaq.
Other features on offer remain similar to Kusaq with wireless mobile charging, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, auto AC with rear AC vents, connected car tech, push-button start, cruise control and an electric sunroof. Safety features on offer include upto 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, parking camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic stability control and hill launch assist.
Under the hood, the Taigun will be offered with two petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine (115PS/175Nm) and a 1.5-litre TSI turbo engine (150PS/250Nm). Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed MT as standard with an option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed DSG with 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engines, respectively.
Volkswagen is expected to launch the Taigun in the coming few months. Prices are expected to range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. It will take on likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Maruti S-Cross and the soon to be launched Skoda Kushaq.
