Honda’s Creta-Rival Likely To Be Named Elevate | V3Cars
Honda Cars India are set to reveal a new C-segment SUV in the coming weeks that will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Ahead of its launch, Honda have filed a new word mark, which could be the name of the upcoming Honda SUV.
Upcoming Honda SUV Could Be Called Elevate
Honda have filed a trademark for the word ‘Elevate’, hinting at the name of the upcoming SUV. If Honda greenlight this name, it will become the first SUV from Honda in India that does not follow their conventional naming system for SUVs that use a ‘V’ at the end of the name, as in the case of the BR-V, WR-V and CR-V. The new Honda Elevate could offer a long list of features and boxy proportions to go head to head with the Hyundai Creta and others in the segment.

Honda Elevate Design Details
While the dimensions and design details of the Elevate SUV are under wraps, images of the SUV wrapped in camouflage give us a hint about its exterior design. The Elevate is likely to draw inspiration from larger Honda SUVs like the new CR-V. It could feature slim LED headlights up front along with LED DRLs and a large chrome grille. The lower part of the bumper could house LED fog lights and a faux skid plate. At the rear, it could feature split LED tail lights and a prominent skid plate on the bumper.
Honda Elevate Expected Features
The biggest highlight of the Honda Elevate could be its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features. Currently, the MG Astor is the only C-segment SUV to offer ADAS features and the Honda Elevate could be hot on its heels to take the 2nd spot and ‘elevate’ the customer experience.
Take a look at the expected ADAS features of the Elevate SUV:
- Auto emergency braking (AEB)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
- Auto High Beam (AHB)
- Blind spot camera

Honda Elevate Powertrain Details
The upcoming Honda SUV is likely to share its powertrains with the Honda City facelift. It means that the upcoming Honda SUV won’t offer a diesel engine option, like other Honda cars in India. Hence, the Honda SUV is likely to offer the City’s 1.5L normal petrol engine that produces 121PS of power at 6600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4300rpm. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual and a 7-step CVT. Honda could also offer the 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain of the City e:HEV hybrid with the new SUV. The hybrid variants of the Honda SUV could rival the hybrid variants of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Upcoming Honda Elevate Launch Timeline
Honda are likely to reveal their new Elevate SUV in June 2023 and launch it closer to the festive season. The Honda Elevate will rival other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and MG Astor.
