Toyota are likely to offer the Hyryder SUV with two powertrain options — a base mild-hybrid petrol and a strong hybrid petrol. Both engines are likely to make use of a 1.5L petrol engine, sourced from Maruti Suzuki. Toyota have confirmed that Maruti Suzuki will supply the mild-hybrid powertrain whereas the strong hybrid powertrain will be supplied by Toyota. Toyota will manufacture both the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki’s equivalent SUV at their second plant in Bidadi, Karnataka. Soon after the unveiling of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, we expect Maruti Suzuki to unveil their version of the hybrid SUV.
