Toyota Fortuner GR-S Launched At Rs. 48.43 Lakh | V3Cars

Toyota India have launched the Fortuner GR-S at Rs. 48.43 lakh ex-showroom. The Fortuner GR-S sits above the Fortuner Legender and comes with a diesel automatic with 4-wheel-drive drivetrain.

Toyota India have expanded the Fortuner range with the newly-launched Fortuner GR-S. The GR-S is a kitted version of the Fortuner — borrowing sporty bits and pieces from the Gazoo racing arm. Speaking of the exterior changes, the Fortuner GR-S gets a gloss black front grille, tweaked front bumper, sporty rear spoiler, body-coloured side cladding and 18-inch black alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Fortuner GR Sport gets a red-and-black dashboard, GR seat upholstery, perforated leather steering wheel with GR badging, leather-covered gear knob, carbon fibre inserts, sports pedals and GR emblems. To back its sporty credentials, Toyota India have added the GR-tuned suspension to the Fortuner GR-S.

As we stated earlier, the Fortuner GR Sport comes with a 2.8L turbo diesel engine. It produces 204PS of power between 3000rpm and 3400rpm and 500Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2800rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive.

The Fortuner GR-S costs Rs. 3.83 lakh more than the Fortuner Legender without offering any substantial changes. For the money, it offers a sporty body kit and GR branding along with a sporty tune for the suspension. Hence, the Fortuner GR-S fails to break the value-for-money quotient, like every other Fortuner variant in the market today.
