In this January 2024 Cars Sales Analysis article, we’ll look at the total and average sales figures of the 20 top-selling cars in the last 6 months ending January 2024. We’ll also share the monthly sales figures of each of these 20 cars for the last 6 months.

Aug 2023 - Jan 2024 – Top-Selling Cars – 6-Month Total & Average

Maruti Suzuki Dominance: Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the market, with three of its models (WagonR, Baleno, and Swift) securing the top spots in terms of both total sales and average sales.
Consistent Performers:
- WagonR: The Maruti Suzuki WagonR consistently performs well, maintaining an average monthly sales figure of around 16,135 units.
- Baleno: Another Maruti Nexa model, the Baleno, closely follows WagonR in terms of both total and average sales.
Tata’s Strong Showing:
- Punch: Tata’s Punch has made a significant impact, with an impressive average of 14,837 units sold per month.
- Nexon: Tata’s Nexon also maintains a strong position, averaging around 14,607 units per month.
Maruti Dzire and Brezza:
- The Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Brezza secure respectable positions, contributing to the brand’s overall success.
Hyundai’s Creta and Venue:
- Hyundai’s Creta and Venue models perform well, with Creta averaging 12,316 units and Venue averaging 11,355 units per month.
Mahindra Scorpio N + Classic and Bolero + Neo:
- Mahindra’s Scorpio N + Classic and Bolero + Neo models maintain steady sales figures, contributing to the brand’s presence in the top 10.
Kia Seltos and Toyota Innova Crysta/HyCross:
- Kia’s Seltos and Toyota’s Innova Crysta/HyCross also make it to the list, although their sales volumes are comparatively lower.
Top Gainers:
- Baleno: Maruti Nexa’s Baleno has shown consistent growth over the past 6 months, making it one of the top gainers.
- Punch: Tata’s Punch has also gained traction, securing a strong position.
Top Losers:
- XUV700: Mahindra’s XUV700, despite being a new entrant, hasn’t performed as expected, making it one of the top losers.
- Grand Vitara: Maruti Nexa’s Grand Vitara has relatively lower sales, placing it among the bottom performers.
In summary, Maruti Suzuki remains the dominant player, while Tata and Hyundai continue to hold their ground.
