Skoda Kushaq To Launch On June 28; Deliveries In July | V3Cars
Skoda has confirmed that the Kushaq SUV will go on sale in the country on 28 June. Bookings for the SUV will also start on the same day while the deliveries are set to get underway in July.
For the uninitiated, the Kushaq is the first car to be underpinned by the VW group’s MQB A0 IN platform. It is the same platform that will also underpin the upcoming VW Taigun, Skoda Slavia sedan (City-rival) and the next-gen Vento.
Courtesy of the new platform, the Kushaq has a wheelbase of 2651mm which is not only bigger than its arch-rivals, the Creta and the Seltos but is also bigger than that of the now-discontinued Skoda Karoq. That said, the Kushaq is 4225mm long, 1760mm wide and 1612mm tall. It has a ground clearance of 188m and a boot space of 385 litres which can be further expanded to 1405 litres by folding the 60:40 split rear seats.
Under the hood, the Kushaq will be offered with two TSI turbo petrol engines to choose from. A 1.0-litre unit making 115PS and 175Nm and a 1.5-litre unit making 150PS and 250Nm. Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed MT as standard and optional 6-speed AT and 7-speed DSG with the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engines, respectively. Skoda will offer the Kushaq in three variants and here the list of available engine-transmission options depending on the variant:

If the reports are to be believed, Skoda will also launch a Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq at a later stage.
The Kushaq will be loaded on the features front as well. It gets auto LED headlamps, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, ambient lighting, auto AC with rear AC vents, auto-dimming IRVM, bi-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets basic connected car tech features like geofencing, car tracking, service reminders and insurance reminders.
Safety features on offer include dual front airbags (higher variant gets up to 6 airbags), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, electronic stability control (standard), hill launch assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and multi-collision braking.
Prices of the Skoda Kushaq are expected to range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and its platform sibling, the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
