In this September 2023 Maruti Suzuki Cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Arena and Nexa for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Maruti cars’ sales improved and which ones declined.

September 2023 - Maruti Suzuki Arena & Nexa Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

Most of the Maruti cars saw a drop in sales figures in our YoY Maruti Suzuki car sales comparison.
Maruti produced 1,50,812 cars in September 2023 compared to 1,48,380 units in September 2022, which is an overall YoY growth of over 0.53% in 2023 compared to 2022.
This growth in overall sales despite seeing a loss in most cars in the market is explained by the fact that Jimny, Invicto and Fronx were not on sale in the market last year. Their combined sales accounted for 14,495 units.
The Grand Vitara was the top YoY gainer amongst the high volume cars from Maruti, with over 146% YoY growth in the month of September.
Although Maruti is generally associated with high-volume cars, being one of the most popular car brands in India, technically speaking, the S-Presso, Ignis, Invicto and Ciaz can be considered as low-volume cars from the carmaker.
Amongst the low-volume cars from Maruti, Ignis reported a 64% YoY decline and S-Presso reported a 46% YoY drop in the September 2023 comparison analysis.
Maruti launched 4 cars in the past year - the Grand Vitara, Jimny, Invicto and Fronx.

September 2023 - Maruti Suzuki Arena & Nexa Car Sales Figures - MoM Change

Most of the Maruti cars in the comparison reported a decline in MoM comparison analysis for the month of September.
Sales of the top-selling car by Maruti, the Baleno, dropped by 0.53% in September compared to August.
Maruti Suzuki sold nearly 1,500 units of the Ciaz in September compared to just 849 units in August, which makes for an MoM rise of about 75%. This makes it the biggest gainer in the September 2023 MoM comparison for Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
The Ertiga was next on the MoM gainers’ ranking, with a 9.85% growth.
Among the MoM losers, the Ciaz topped the list with around 34% decline in dispatch numbers in September MoM comparison.
The Ciaz was followed by the Swift with about a 21.18% decline in sales numbers.
