In this September 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all A-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. A-Segment Hatchback September 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, Maruti’s Alto and Alto K10 twins were the biggest gainers, with a 105% YoY growth in September
- The Hyundai Santro witnessed a 100% drop in sales in September 2022 compared to the same month last year
- The Datsun Redi-Go’s sales dropped by a 100% in YoY comparison since the hatchback was discontinued
- The Celerio saw the biggest YoY change in September 2022, with a gain from just 0 units in September 2021 to almost 5,400 cars sold in September 2022
- Th skewed YoY gain of the Celerio is because it was about to get a generation change last year and had little to no demand as customers were waiting for the updated model
- Renault Kwid saw a 26% decline in dispatch figures over that of September 2021

A-Segment Hatchback September 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The Alto/Alto-K10 twins were the biggest gainers in MoM comparison as well, with a 73% MoM growth in September 2022
- Renault Kwid saw an 18% growth in MoM comparison for the month of September
- The Maruti S-Presso was the top loser, with a 39% decline in dispatches in September 2022
