Renault Arkana Hybrid Coupe SUV Registered In India — Spied Again | V3Cars
Renault have been testing multiple cars on Indian roads. In the recent past, we have seen the Renault Zoe, Renault Koleos and the Renault Arkana undergoing tests on our roads. A Renault Arkana hybrid coupe SUV was spied recently wearing TN registration plates, hinting at an imminent launch.
The Renault Arkana E-Tech hybrid coupe SUV comes with a self-charging strong hybrid drivetrain. Renault also offer the Arkana with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine in international markets. However, Renault may be considering the hybrid version of the Arkana as a flagship product for the Indian market. The Arkana coupe hybrid uses a 1.6L petrol engine and a 1.2kWh battery pack. The hybrid setup offers a combined power output of 142PS. Meanwhile, the engine produces a peak torque of 148Nm while the electric motor produces 250Nm.

The Arkana hybrid follows a coupe SUV design language, similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It measures 4568mm long, 2034mm wide, 1576mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2720mm. The coupe SUV features LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED tail lights.
Notable features of the Renault Arkana are:
- Vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment
- Wireless phone charger
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Digital instrument cluster
- Powered and heated front seats
- Auto AC
- Bose sound system
- Hands-free parking

Renault currently have 3 cars in their Indian portfolio — the Kwid, Triber and Kiger — aimed at price-conscious buyers. With the Duster and Captur no longer on sale, Renault do not have any offering in the higher price segment to target premium car buyers. With the Arkana SUV, Renault could target premium car buyers and thereby uplift their brand value in the country.
Renault are yet to announce the Arkana for the Indian market. If launched, we expect Renault to take the CKD route and sell lower volumes while commanding a premium over its locally-manufactured rivals. In all likelihood, we could potentially see the Renault Arkana in the flesh at the 2023 Auto Expo.
