Renault Arkana Coupe SUV Spied Again

Renault Arkana Coupe SUV Spied Again — India Launch Soon? | V3Cars

The Renault Arkana coupe SUV was spied testing in Chennai yet again. If launched, the Renault Arkana will rival the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Mahindra XUV700.

Renault currently have 3 cars in their portfolio — the Kwid, Triber and Kiger — aimed at price-conscious buyers. With the Duster and Captur no longer on sale, Renault do not have any offering in the higher price segment to target premium car buyers.

While reports suggest the next-gen Duster could hit our shores next year, the Arkana could serve as a halo product in Renault’s India portfolio. Its coupe roofline and sleek looks give it a unique presence on the road, which could serve as the unique selling point of the Arkana.

Renault Arkana

Renault first unveiled the Arkana in Russia in May 2019. It follows a coupe SUV design language, similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. It measures 4568mm long, 2034mm wide, 1576mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2720mm. The coupe SUV features LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED tail lights.

Some notable features of the Renault Arkana are:

  • Vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment
  • Wireless phone charger
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Powered and heated front seats
  • Auto AC
  • Bose sound system
  • Hands-free parking

Renault are yet to announce whether they plan to launch the Arkana in India or not. If launched, we expect Renault to take the CKD route and sell lower volumes while commanding a premium over its locally-manufactured rivals.
