New Generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio Launching On Nov 10 | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki today announced that they will reveal the prices of the new-generation Celerio on November 10, 2021. Maruti Suzuki yesterday started accepting bookings for the hatchback ahead of the launch. The booking amount is set at Rs. 11,000 per unit. You can visit www.marutisuzuki.com/celerio or book the car from a dealership.
While the new Celerio is technically going on sale in 2021, it’s fair to call this new-generation hatchback a 2022 model as the bulk of the sales will only happen in 2022.
2022 Maruti Celerio Top Features
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will get the following notable features:
ORVM with turn indicators
Touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Carplay
Keyless entry
Push-button start/stop
Black alloy wheels (most likely with 15-inch wheels - same size as Ignis)
Halogen reflector headlamps
Flap type door handles (older Celerio had grab type handles)
Engine auto-start/stop
Manual day/night inside mirror
Manual AC
Steering-mounted controls
2021 Maruti Celerio Engine Options
In terms of engine options, the Celerio will carry over the 1.0L, 3-cylinder normal petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. Just like the WagonR, the new Celerio will also offer the 1.2L petrol engine as an option with manual and AMT automatic. However, this is not the same 1.2L normal petrol engine as the WagonR or the Ignis. This new engine is the 1.2L dual-jet hybrid engine, which is available in the Dzire and Baleno.
The mileage of the 2022 Celerio is its USP. This 1.2L hybrid petrol engine has a mileage figure of 24kmpl+ with the Dzire AMT automatic. So, with the lighter Celerio, we expect it to offer closer to 26kmpl. Even if it manages to offer 25kmpl, it’ll still be shockingly good and will make it the most fuel-efficient petrol car in India. The auto-start/stop feature will also help it deliver better mileage in the stop-and-go city traffic.
In addition, the Celerio will also carry over the CNG fuel option with the smaller 1.0L petrol engine. This one is likely to carry a premium of Rs. 90,000 over the comparable variant with a 1.0L normal petrol engine.

New Maruti Celerio Expected Price
The 2022 Celerio will compete with the Tata Tiago, WagonR and Hyundai Santro. The older Celerio starts from Rs. 4.65 lakh to Rs. 6.0 lakh. We expect the new model to cost between Rs. 5.0 and 6.5 lakh.
