Celebrating the 30th birthday of the G500, Mercedes-Benz have revealed the new G500 final edition. Limited to just 1,500 units, the Final Edition bids farewell to the V8-powered G500 SUV.

Mercedes-Benz G500 Final Edition Revealed

The G500 Final Edition gets a few subtle add-ons over the regular G500 variant. To start with it comes with an exclusive green exterior colour but if you are not fond of that, the carmaker also offers 2 other colour options — black and white. The green colour also adds body-colored 20-inch AMG-spec alloy wheels while the other colour options come with black alloys.

Mercedes-Benz G500 Final Edition

Furthermore, the G500 Final Edition also features the ‘G’ logo projection from the puddle lamps along with “Stronger Than Ever” lettering. It also offers ‘Final Edition’ badges on the front fenders and spare wheel cover. On the inside, the G500 features an all-leather package, which covers everything from the boot mat to the roof liner. It also offers ‘Final Edition’ embossing on the seat headrests.

Powering the G500 Final Edition is the familiar 4.0L twin-turbocharged petrol V8. It produces 421PS of power and 610Nm of torque. It channels power to all 4 wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The future G-Class models are unlikely to come with a V8 and pack a more efficient V6 instead. An all-electric EQG based on the same platform is expected to hit the market soon as well.

Since the G500 Final Edition is limited to just 1,500 units (500 units per colour), Mercedes-Benz are unlikely to launch this edition in our market. The carmaker recently launched the G-Class 400d in India in both AMG Line and Adventure Edition trim. Apart from that, the carmaker also offers the G63 AMG in the country, which comes with a V8.
