Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Black Series Launched In India At Rs. 5.50 Crore | V3Cars
Mercedes Benz have launched their most powerful AMG car yet, the AMG GT Black Series in India. Being a very rare product in the German marque’s lineup, only 2 units have been allocated for India. 1 of the GT Blacks was delivered to the customer recently while the other unit will be delivered next month.
Mr. Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, himself delivered the car to Boopesh Reddy, the first customer of the AMG GT Black Series in India. The customer also owns other exclusive and rare cars as well, such as Mercedes SLS AMG, AMG G63, Lamborghini Huracan STO, Porsche 911R, etc.

The Mercedes AMG GT Black Series uses a 4.0L bi-turbo V8 that produces 740PS of power at 6700rpm and 800Nm between 2000rpm and 6000rpm. It uses a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission and drives the rear wheels only. The car can do a 0-100kmph run in 3.2 seconds and a 0-200kmph run in under 9 seconds. The AMG GT Black has a claimed top speed of 325kmph.
The AMG GT Black Series is available in 2 colour options — Silver and Reddish-Orange. The supercar rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 10-spoke alloy wheels. The delivered car had a Nappa Leather interior, finished in black with orange contrast stitching and matte black carbon fibre. The car also gets a carbon fibre front diffuser, bonnet, roof and front wings.
Over the standard AMG GT, the Black Series gets some performance-focused upgrades to make it more dynamic. It has enhanced bodywork for better aerodynamics. The car gets a flat crankshaft V8 engine for better torque delivery at lower RPMs. The car also gets the Race Start function, which is the launch mode, and a 9-level variable traction control system.
The AMG GT Black Series gets AMG coil-over suspension with adaptive adjustable damping. The car also gets manually adjustable camber and anti-roll bars at the front and rear axles. The car also gets very purposeful ceramic brakes with black-coloured brake callipers.

The delivery of the AMG GT Black Series strongly emphasizes our commitment towards introducing the most desirable and exclusive products from our global portfolio for performance purists in India."
"There was an overwhelming response from the AMG customers for the AMG GT Black Series supercar since its global debut, and we will deliver two units of this exclusive masterpiece in India based on our allocations. The second unit of the Black Series will be delivered to our customer next month." added Mr. Schwenk.
