In this May 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment sedans in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment sedans for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment Sedans May 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

Tata Tigor was the top loser, with a 32% YoY decline in May 2023, followed by the Honda Amaze with a 15.66% drop in YoY sales in May 2023
The Dzire was the top selling sedan in the B2-segment, with 11,315 units dispatched in May 2023, compared to 11,603 units sold in the May of 2022
Hyundai Aura/Xcent pair was the sole gainer in the B2-sedan category with a 42% growth in May 2023 compared to May 2022

B2-Segment Sedans May 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Dzire was the sole gainer in the category, with a 11.68% rise in sales in May compared to April
The Tigor was the top MoM loser, registering a 14.36% growth in sales in May compared to April
Sales of the Amaze dropped by 7.81% in May compared to April
Xcent/Aura failed to report a growth in MoM comparison and saw a decline of 7.43%
